Lloyd Wollen in dem Saale de» „Hotel de France" den von ihm angekündigten Cyklu» von Vorlesungen über die englischen Humoristen de» l8. und 19. Jahrhunderts. Der Redner wählte zunächst den berühmten Satiriker Jonathan Swift zum Gegenstände einführen wird. Wir sind nun aber fest davon überzeugt, daß ein Volk, welche- seinem Fürsten eine solche reine, freie und ungeheuchelte Liebe selbst in den schlimmsten Be« drängnissen erhält und bewahrt, auch in gleicher Weise von dem festesten Vertrauen auf Seine Weisheit, auf Seine Liebe zum Volke durchdrungen und beseelt ist, und finden daher in den Erlebnissen der letzten Tage eine Bürgschaft dafür, daß alle die Tausende aller Stände, die Ihm in den letzten Tagen in der verschie densten Weise ihre Huldigungen dargebracht und Be weise ihrer Liebe gegeben, Ihm auch gern und willig in die neuen Bahnen, die Sachsen von nun an betre ten wird, folgen und mit Hintansetzung aller etwaigen persönlichen Gefühle und Ansichten, in der ehrlichen und gewissenhaften Erfüllung aller der Verpflichtungen un terstützen werden, die Er durch den Frieden am 21. Oc - Lotterte. IE „N. «ine an« tober im Interesse des Landes übernommen hat treu und rückhaltlos ausführen wirb. Berlin, 5. November. Auch die ministerielle A. A." erklärt heute, daß alle Andeutungen über bevorstehende Veränderung in dem einen oder dern Ressortministerium durchaus unbegründet sind. Es bestehe fortwährend die vollständigste Ueber» einstimmung und Solidarität unter allen Mitgliedern des gesammten Staatsministeriums. Bon Verhandlun gen mit dem Oberpräsidenten der Provinz Posen wegen Uebernahme des Portefeuilles für die inner» Angele genheiten sei niemals die Rede gewesen und die betref fende Angabe der „Post" ganz auS der Luft gegriffen. „Es heißt übrigens die thatsächlichen Verhältnisse ge radezu entstellen, sagt die „N. A. Z.", wenn in einem Theile der Presse die Meinung verbreitet wird, al- ob gerade das System der innern Verwaltung Preußen» nicht geeignet sein dürfte, die Gemüthrr in den neu er worbenen Provinzen zu gewinnen. Wer die Berichte der dortigen Localzeitungen über den Eindruck, welchen die von da hierher gesandten verschiedenen Deputatio nen in ihre Heimath mit zurückgcbracht haben, nicht ganz übersehen hat, der wird wissen, daß dieselben über die Ergebnisse ihrer Unterredungen mit dem Minister des Innern, aus dessen Departement ja die Maßregeln in Betreff der . neuen Provinzen hauptsächlich hervor- gehen, sich einstimmig mit großer Befriedigung geäußert haben." — Unter den Vorlagen, welche die Regie rung dem Landtage nach Wiedereröffnung seiner Sai son zu machen gedenkt, wird sich, wie wir hören, un zweifelhast der Gesetzentwurf wegen Aufhebung der jetzt bestehenden Coalitionsbeschränkungen befin den. WaS die Angelegenheit der Schuldotation betrifft, so dürfte es die Rücksichtnahme auf die neuen Provin zen wohl angemessen erscheinen lassen, dieselbe erst dann zur Vorlage zu bringen, wenn Verfassung und Gesetz gebung auch auf diese preußischen Lande-theile ausge dehnt sein wird. — (B. Bl.) Der Prinz von Wales traf gestern früh in Potsdam ein und stieg im neuen PalaiS bei seiner Schwester, der Frau Kronprinzessin, ab. Se. k. Hoheit stellte sich im Laufe de» Tage» den anwesenden Mitgliedern der königlichen Familie vor und setzte am Abend seine Reise nach St. Petersburg fort. — Auf der Durchreist nach St. Petersburg, um den am kai serlichen Hofe stattfindenden Hochzeitsfestlichkeiten brizu- wohnen, ist der Feldmarschall Fürst BaryatinSki hier erkrankt und dadurch an seiner Weiterreise verhindert worden. — Der Polizeipräsident v. Bernuth ist vonfeiner Urlaubsreife zurückgekehrt und hat die Geschäfte wieder übernommen. — DasBudg etfür das Jahr 1867 befindet sich bereits im Druck. — Die schon früher beabsichtigte neue Organisation des FeldlazarethwesenS, welche durch den letzten Krieg einen Aufschub erlitten hat, soll jetzt mit möglichster Beschleunigung gefördert werden. Um dabei die in diesem Feldzuge gewonnene» Erfahrungen nutzbar zu machen, hat der Krieg-Minister die General kommandos veranlaßt, über die Thätigkeit und die Lei stung der Feldlazarethe während deS Kriege» sich in gut achtlichen Berichten auSzusprechen. — Bei der dritten Abtheilung des Kammergerichts gelangte heute der bekannte Proceß gegen den Abgeordneten Twesten Fr»illet». J»skr«te. ^agetkalenber. Börsr«M«ch- ichte« seiner Erörterungen. In lebendiger Sprache enttollte er ein trauriges, aber nur zu wahre» Bild von dem Leben »nd Charakter dieses merkwürdigen Manne», schil derte seinen Geist und Witz auf der einen Seite, «brr auch seinen Stolz, seinen Ehrgeiz, seine Spottsucht und seine Irreligiosität auf der andern Seite. Ja ergrei fender Weise wurde uns «uch da» beklagen-werthe Schick sal der treu liebenden Stella vor Augen geführt, für die Swift solche Zärtlichkeit hatte und die er doch fort während auf'» Tiefste kränkte. Einen Umstand hätte jedoch der Redner stärker betonen sollen, welcher am ehesten geeignet ist, der sonst unbegreiflichen Handlungs weise de» großen Schriftsteller» zur Erklärung zu dienen. Dir Geisteskrankheit, die gegen daS Ende seine» Lebens seinen ehemals so klaren Verstand umnachtete, mag schon lange in ihm verborgen gelegen und in seinem Carak« ter manche der Widersprüche hervorgerufen haben, die uns mit so gerechtem Entrüsten gegen ihn erfüllen. Voung erzählt in seinen Nachtgedanken, daß Swift auf einem Spaziergänge in der Nähe von Dublin plötzlich hinter seinen Freunden zurückgeblieben und vor einer hohen, aber am Wipfel verwelkten Ulme tief in Gedan ken versunken stehen geblieben sei. Auf Befragen seiner Freunde habe er sodann gesagt: „Ich werde sein wie dieser Baum, ich werde von oben sterben." Für das nächste Mal versprach uns Herr vr. Wol len (der sich, beiläufig gesagt, die Thackeray'schrn Vor lesungen über englische Literatur zum Muster genom men zu haben scheint) einen Vortrag über die beiden Schriftsteller Steele und Goldsmith, der sich hoffentlich eine« gleichen Beifall« erfreuen wird, wie die gestrige 73068. December eine internationale Ausstellung von Käsen in Paris statt, bei welcher durch eine besonder« Jury goldne, silberne und bronzene Me daillen zur Vertheilung gebracht werden. Denjenigen, welche sich hierbei zu betheiligen beab sichtigen, wird auf Verlangen von dem unterzeichneten Ministerium da» Nähere mitgetheilt. Dresden, den 3. November 1866. Ministerium des Innern, v. 's Die „gesammelten Wirke" Adolph Böttger'» (Leipzig, Dürr'scher Verlag) find mit de« soeben an» Die erste derartige Composition, welche für diesen Zweck geschrieben wurde, war dieses Coueerto welche- am 5. April 1736 zwischen den ersten und zweiten Theil im Aleranderfest eingelegt war; man nannte e-darauf „da- berühmte Concert im Aleranderfest". Das schöne Musikstück trägt den Stempel echt Händel'scher Origi nalität, ja das Thema des ersten Satzes läßt den Com- ponisten von „Rule Vritania" erkennen. Unter den 4 Sätzen dieses ConcerteS möchten wir dem ersten Satz (Allegro) und dem Largo de- zweiten Satzes wegen Mächtigkeit der Gedanken und kunstvoller Verwendung der 3 Soloinstrumente den Vorzug geben, während im Andante ein volksthümlicher Charakter und im letzten Allegro ein belebtes Tonspiel unS anmuthig anspricht. Die Ausführung war in hohem Grade befriedigend, namentlich zeichneten sich die Herren Solisten Seel mann, Ackermann und Böckmann aus. Letzterer war in diesem Concert sowohl als im Beethoven'schen Ouar- tett an Stelle des plötzlich erkrankten Herrn Bürchl ohne jede Vorbereitung ringetreten. Dem „Tonkünst lerverein" sei für die Vorführung der „neuen" Kiel'schen Sonate und des „alten" Concertes von Händel auf richtiger Dank gesagt. Bleibe er diesem Principe, gute Musik vergangener und gegenwärtiger Zeit zu pflegen, immer treu. Sein Motto fei: Keine Unterschätzung de« Alten, keine Ueberschätzung deS Neuen, aber auch keine Uebrrschätzung des Alten, keine Unterschätzung de- Neuen. —t— Im tritt kost u. 8t«i»pel »uacdlax dineu Bukarest, Montag, 5. Der „Armermoniteur" sagt bezüglich der Armeereorgavi- sation: Der Effektivstand von 4VVM0 de» FriedeaS- fuße» wird nicht vermindirt. Die Hauptaufgabe der Armercommijsivn ist die Herstellung einer stet» diS- ponibeln, zahlreichern, instrnelivern und geübter» Reserve, al» die gegenwärtige. Das Armrebudgrt wird nicht vermindrrbar, vielmehr dürsten einige, für die LandeSehre und die Sicherheit unerläßliche Opfer er forderlich sein. kunft.) — Das Programm des gestrigen Productions- abends eröffnete rin Quartett für Streichinstrumente von Beethoven (op. 18 Nr. 3), in vorzüglicher Weise gespielt von den Herren Seelmann, Ackermann, Schlei- stng und Böckmann. Hieraus folgte eine Sonate für Pianoforte und Violine (op. 53) von F. Kiel (in Berlin), welche wir zum ersten Mal« hörten. Da» treffliche Musikstück enthält mancherlei Vorzüge, so namentlich Gründlichkeit de« Satze-, sowie formelle und harmonische Abrundung de» Ganzen. Weniger hervorragend er scheint die Sonate in Hinsicht selbstständiger Erfindung und deS melodischen Elementes, obgleich der Componist auch hierin gegen frühere Werke, die wir von ihm ge hört, entschiedene Fortschritte gemacht hat. Namentlich zeichnen sich in dieser Beziehung der zweite und letzte Satz au». Der Componist scheint sich von den beengen den Fesseln der Dehn'schen contrapunktischen Schule immer mehr zu befreien, obgleich nicht zu verkennen, daß ihm dieselbe al» strenge Lehrerin von großem Nutzen ge wesen ist. Die Herren Seelmann und Rollfuß hatten di« Senat« mit großer Liebe ftudirt, und so gelang eS ihnen, dieselbe zu entschieden günstiger Wirkung zu bringen. Den Schluß deS interessanten Abend» bildete ein 6ona«rto geooso (l^äue) für 2 Violinen und Violon cell eoncortont«, 2 Violinen, Viola, Violoncell, Baß und 2 Oboen von G. F. Händel, welches ebenfall» zum ersten Male zur Ausführung kam. Dasselbe ist jüngst in der 2l. Lieferung der Autgabr der deutschen Händel- gesellschaft in Partitur erschienen. S« ist, wie alle der artigen Compofitionen Händel'», dadurch entstanden, daß der Meister durch eine Lähmung der rechten Hand seit 1736 verhindert war, zwischen den Abtheilungen seiner Oratorien, wie sonst gebräuchlich, ein Orgeleoncert ein zulegen, an deren Stelle nunmehr verschiedene Concerte für Saiten- und Blasinstrumente zur Aufführung kamen. Tngesgeschichte. Dresden, 6. November. Se. Majestät der König haben heute Vormittag die Pröpste von St. Marien- stern und St. Marienthal und sodann eine Deputation der evangelischen Geistlichkeit der Oberlausid, deutscher und wendischer Zunge, zu empfangen geruht. Im Namen der letzteren richtete L. Kuhn aus Budisstn folgende Ansprache an Sc. Majestät: .In tiefster Ebrfurcht nahen die Vertreter der evangelischen Geistlichkeit der Oberlausitz zugleich im Namen ihrer Kirchge- meinden, Ew. Majestät den Gefühlen ihrer kindlichen Freude über Höchstderen Rückkehr in unsre Mitte unmittelbar einen ob auch »och so unvollkommenen Ausdruck zn geben und die alten Versprechungen der Treue und Hingebung zu erneuern. Der ewige Regierer der Völker, der Lenker ihrer Geschicke, der den Kriegen steuert und Frieden sendet zu rechter Zeit, hat un» in den Zeiten der Bedräugmß selbst unaussprechlich ge segnet damit, daß Er so manche naheliegenden Befürchtungen von unsern Fluren und Ortschaften fern gehalten, und eben jetzt hat Er es wieder gelhan damit, daß er mit dem ersehnten Frieden Ew. Majestät zu uns zurückgeführt. Diese Freude, dieses Glück «heilen wir mit dem ganzen Lande. Auch unter uns hat die Trübsalshitze eine köstliche Frucht wiederum gezei tigt, die nie vergehen wird, das ist die soweit möglich noch inuwere, noch verehrungsoollcre, noch begeistertere Hingabe Aller au Ew. Majestät, an Ihre Maj. die Königin, an das ganze angestammte thrure königliche Haus. Und wenn in den Tagen der Angst unsre Gemeinden mit unS ihre einzige Zuflucht an den Altären Dessen suchten und fanden, der von Alters her Burg. Hort und Zuversicht aller bedrängter Herzen, so sind es auch jetzt wieder diese heiligen Stätten zunächst, da man höret die Stimme des Dantes und prediget Seine Wunder. Ihm ver trauen wir denn auch ferner. Er wird das theuere Haupt un- sers geliebten König- allmächtig schützen — die alte Sachsen treue fest und lebendig erhalten — so aber das wahre Heil nn- sers lhenna Vaterlandes zur inniaen Freude nufer- hochedeln Königs fördeio und bewahren! DaS unsre Hoffnung, darin nnser Gelübde, das unser tägliches brünstiges Gebet — und das wird Gott nicht verweisen." Sc. Majestät der König geruhten hierauf, wie uns mitgetheilt wird, in herzlichster Weise zu erwidern, wie auch Er im Vertrauen zu Gott die Schwere der Zeit ertragen und überzeugt sei, daß die Geistlichkeit treu mitgewirkt habe, die anvertraute Gemeinde zu rechter Gesinnung hinzuleiten, von ihrem Gebet ferneren Segen erwartend. Dresden, 6. November. Mit dem gestrigen Fackel zuge der hiesigen Akademiker und Polytechniker (»ergl. umstehend) und dem Emfange der großen Leipziger De putation bei Sr. Majestät dem Könige dürften die er hebenden Festlichkeiten, welche sich an die Rückkehr un- sers hochverehrten und heißgeliebten KönigSpaarS knüpf- lau, im Wesentlichen ihren Abschluß gesuuden haben. Wer diese Tage, von dem Eintritte Ihrer Majestäten in da- Land an bi» gestern selbst mit durchlebt hat, dem werden sie auch unvergeßlich sein; sie haben rin laut redendes Zeugniß gegeben von einem Verhältnisse zwischen Fürst,und Volk, wie es vielleicht kaum noch anderswo in gleichem Maße besteht, von einer gegen seitigen Treue, Liebe und Anhänglichkeit, die durch kein Unglück, durch keine Trennung geschwächt werden konn ten. Denn das war ja eben das Erhebende, das Be deutungsvolle dieser Tage, daß Alles, was sie gebracht, aus der eigenen Bewegung, aus der reinen Liebe des Volkes ohne alle Nebenabsichten hervorgegangcn, daß da bei nichts künstlich Gemachtes, nicht» Tendenziöses zu bemerken war. Di« einzelnen kleinlichen Versuche, die hier und da gemacht worden sind, diesen Eindruck zu schwächen und Mißtrauen gegen die eigentliche Bedeu tung dieser Volkskundgebungen zu erregen, die Versuche, einzelne Worte, die hier und da gefallen, aus dem Zusammenhänge zu reißen, oder gar die allbekannten, unschuldigen Dresdner Stadtfarben für österreichische Farben und deren vielfache Anbringung als eine poli tische Demonstration au-zugeben — alle diese Versuche sind spurlos vorüber gegangen in dem allgemeinen Jubel. Für uns aber haben die letzten Tage auch noch eine andere, hohe Bedeutung. Gestern eröffnete für diese Saison der erste Productionsabend des „Ton künstlervereins" den Reigen der dem Dresdner Publicum so lieb gewordene» verschiedenen periodisch wiederkehrenden Concertunternehmungen. In den Abon- nementSconcrrten der k. Kapelle, in den Quartettsoireen der Herren Lauterbach und Genossen, in den Triosoirsen der Herren Rollfuß, Seelmann rc., und endlich in den ProductionSabenden deS „TonkünstlervereinS" gipfelt sich da» Mufiktreiben der Restdenz, und so dürfen alle Kunst freunde der letztern den Unternehmern der erwähnten Concerte wahrhaft dankbar fein, daß diefelben trotz der Ungunst der Umstände sich doch nicht haben abhalten lassen, ihren Mitbürgern die so lieb und thcuer gewor denen Kunstgenüsse zu bieten. Möge hierin hoffent lich eine neue Gewähr für endlich eingetretene fried lichere Zustände liegen. Wir empfehlen fämmtliche oben erwähnten Concertunternehmungen der Gunst de« Publi cum-. Zahlreiche Theilnahme desselben möge dem Vor wurfe begegnen, daß der Kreis der Kunstfreunde Dres den», welcher dem Höchsten und Edelsten zugethan ist und nicht nur der Göttin der Mode und de» Wechsels huldigt, auf ein Minimum zusammen geschmolzen sei. Hierbei unterlassen wir nicht, in-besondere auf den „Ton- künstlerverein" aufmerksam zu machen, welcher sich die Pflege der Kammermusik aller Zetten zur Aufgabe ge macht hat. Der Verein nimmt auch außerordentliche oder zuhörende Mitglieder auf, welche allen von ihm veranstalteten Mustkaufführungrn beiwohnen dürfen und für die ProductionSabende auch nvch ein Billet zu be. liebiger Verwendung erhalten.
