A notice published yester day evening by the Cunard Line states that the changes announced yesterday by the White Star Line with regard to the ports of call of their liners would probably not occasion any alteration in the present programme of the Cunard Line. It was of course, indisputable that the Channel ports offer to ocean travellers from the Continent advantages with which Liverpool cannot compete, and sooner or later the Directors of the Cunard Line would be obliged, in the interests of the Line, to make use of those advantages in accordance with a de cision that had been arrived at by the Board. Paris, January 8. The aeronaut Count de la Vaux made a trial trip yesterday afternoon at bartrouville near Versailles with the steerable air ship which he has built. The trial was a complete success. WEATHER FORECAST FOR TODAY of the Royal Saxon Meteorological Institute. Light westerly winds, rather dull, frequent showers, somewhat cooler. Proprietor, Publisher .od ReepotHdbl, Editor: Willi.
