THE WORK OF THE CONGRESS In order to achieve fruitful results, the I. A. A. (International Advertising Association) which organizes the World Advertising Congresses has selected only o n e official theme to be dealt with by the Congress, namely "International Law and Advertising". As no World Advertising Congress has been held since 1929, the work in this very important sphere has not progressed much further. The conviction is held, however, that the preparatory work already done is sufficient, if the representatives of the various nations concentrate their attention on the subject, to produce proposals which might lead to a uniform System of advertising law. Besides this main theme, provision has been made for separate negotiations in individual groups of experts on such subjects, for instance, as window-dressing, photo-mechanical photo- graphic reproduction, and broadcasting advertising. The advertisement agents will discuss the advertising methods of banks, insurance Companies, railways and telephone Companies. As on every other occasion, this Congress will provide great opportunities for an exchange of views between the delegates. RECEPTIONS FOR THE CONGRESS The Paris International Exhibition of 1937 will naturally be of the greatest interest to the members of the Congress.
