The Millstones exhibited here may enter into competition with the best at present known, and may even be preferable to those of France, as they surpass them in hardness and poro sity and want less sharpening. They are far cheaper in price to those from France, which they have partly superseded in water- millsas in steam-mills. The occurrence of this material in Hungary is therefore of some importance for the neighbouring countries. Puddling steel, raw and refined (Scythe-Steel and „Zeugmaeher“-Steel), pre pared with raw Lignite containing 20—30p.C. of water; 6.
