Wie wir seinerzeit berichteten, haben der Deutsche Uhrmacher-Bund, der Zentralverband der Deutschen Uhrmacher und der Verband Deutscher Uhrengrossisten unterm 24. März d. J. eine gemeinschaftliche Petition an den Reichstag gerichtet, worin gebeten wurde, das Hausierverbot für Taschenuhren auch auf alle anderen Sorten von Uhren aus zudehnen. Zu unserer großen Freude können wir von einem vollen Erfolg dieser Eingabe berichten. Vom Reichstage ist den petitionierenden Verbänden nämlich die folgende Zuschrift zugegangen: Reichstag Berlin NW7, den 13. Juli 1909. Bescheid auf die Petition vom 24. März 1909. Der Reichstag hat in seiner heutigen Plenarsitzung den von der Petitions-Kommission in dem anliegenden Bericht — Drucksache Nr. 1496 — gestellten Äntrag angenommen. Der Direktor: II, Nr. 8179. Jungheim. Der Bericht selbst lautet wie folgt: Reichstag Nr. 1496. 12. Legislatur-Periode I. Session, 1907/1909 248. Bericht der Kommission für die Petitionen. Berichterstatter: Äbgeordneter Schneider. Journ. II, Nr. 8179. In der Sitzung vom 18. Mai 1909 beschäftigte sich die Kommission U. a. mit der gemeinschaftlichen, vom Zentralverband der Deutschen Uhrmacher, vom Deutschen Uhrmacher-Bund und dem Verband Deutscher Uhren-Grossisten unter dem 24. März 1909 aus Leipzig an den Reichstag gesandten Petition II Nr. 8179, betreffend die Abänderung des § 56 Ziffer 3 der- Reichs-Gewerbeordnung. Die Petition wünscht, daß künftig nicht nur Taschenuhren, wie bisher, sondern ganz allgemein Uhren aller Art als Gegenstände bezeichnet werden, die vom Feilbieten im Umher- zieh^n ausgeschlossen seien. Der Wunsch wird begründet mit dem Hinweis auf die Tatsache, daß seit dem letzten Jahrzehnt der Handel mit Wanduhren einen schwindelhaften, das seßhafte Gewerbe schädigenden Charakter angenommen habe, daß minderwertige Ware in den Handel komme, wie sie die Uhrmacher ohne Gefährdung ihres Standesansehens nicht führen könnten, und daß das Publikum ge schädigt sei, weil es die Qualität der Ware nicht zu beurteilen wüßte. Die Kommission schloß sich ohne Debatte dem Antrage des Refe renten an, die vorliegende Petition entsprechend den am 28. Januar 1909 behandelten, ebenfalls den Hausierhandel betreffenden zwölf Petitionen dem Herrn Reichskanzler als Material zu überweisen. Die Kommission beantragt daher: Der Reichstag wolle beschließen, die Petition II, Nr. 8179, betreffend Änderung des § 56 der Gewerbe ordnung (Verbot des Hausierhandels mit Uhren) dem Herrn Reichs kanzler als Material zu überweisen.
